Do you think you’ve managed to brave the search engine race and get our business online? Do you think you could do a little bit more to ensure your business is front and centre for your niche?
Google is one of the biggest boosts to the modern business. There’s a lot of customer drive on offer just by putting yourself online and letting Google know the basics of your business! After all, the search engine itself admits that a business can ‘engage with customers for free’, by opening up a profile with Google My Business.
Simply put, this means your business or company name, address, business phone number and your working hours, plus any photos and current offers you think would be of interest to any potential customer. And if you’re confused or simply wondering about the process involved, we’ll go through the steps below.
- First up, you’ll need to head over to Google My Business. There’s a variety of tabs at the top of the page that’ll help you to manage your profile and get a quick overview of how you’re doing already. While you’re there, be sure to sign in – all you need to do is type in your business name, and then click confirm. If your business isn’t there already, you might have to take the time to add your business name to Google’s data. Don’t worry, that’s pretty simple too.
- Then you’ll be logged in! Once you are, you’ll need to look to the left-hand side of the screen and click the ‘info’ option. There will be quite a few tabs here, but for now, just ignore them and stick to using the ‘info’ tab.
- After that, you’ll be able to see all of your business’ information, all in one neat place for you to access. You’ll also be able to see if any crucial details are missing, which you’ll be able to add to and amend later on. Scroll down a little, more and you’ll come to an ‘add website’ option – all you need to do now is press the pencil icon right next to it.
- Finally, a pop-up dialogue box will open, where you will be able to enter the website you want to connect. Type or paste it in and click the ‘apply’ button. Then you’re all done! Now your website and your business name are linked, and you have a full Google My Business profile to boast.
As you can see, it’s relatively simple to add your website to Google My Business. A few quick steps and you’ll be all done. A few minutes out of your day and you’ll be able to extend your reach tenfold – it’s what the online world is for.
Google wants to make it easy for small businesses like yours to increase your outreach online. It’s why these steps are so easy to get through. And now, your website will be instantly available to anyone who searches something even vaguely close to your business name.
